Sean Frisby, Emergent's Chief Partnerships Officer, will join a dynamic session where speakers and participants work together to identify the essential pieces to attracting forest finance, culminating in a roundtable discussion to increase understanding of the interconnected factors that drive effective forest financing. The aim is for participants to be equipped with a comprehensive picture of the forest finance ecosystem and actionable steps to mobilize and scale finance and investment in forests. After the session, a short documentary video and report will be produced and disseminated to continue the discussions at COP 30.
Organizers: Environmental Markets Fairness Foundation
This panel will take a holistic approach to emphasize the vital role of capacity building under Article 12 of the Paris Agreement in advancing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) across Latin America. Addressing the environmental crisis requires building bridges for a cross-sector collaboration among government, academia, the private sector, and civil society, fostering an inclusive transition that centres on the priorities and voices of local communities. Environmental markets are pivotal in driving a fair and impactful transition, positioning Latin America as a global leader in sustainability. As home to six of the world’s ten most biodiverse countries and over 50% of critical mineral reserves, the region holds tremendous potential to provide essential solutions to global environmental challenges. This panel aims to create an Integral Ecology approach that underscores Latin America’s vital role in building a resilient and sustainable future.
